Rayond E Twining

Raymond E. Twining, 87, of Lakeside-Marblehead, OH died Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center, Port Clinton, OH. He was born August 28, 1925 in Oak Harbor, OH the son of Raymond L. and Agnus (Flynn) Twining. He married Kathleen Mains on Feb. 26, 1946 and she preceded him in death on June 30, 1990. Mr. Twining was a self-employed painter/contractor and he also worked for the railroad out of the Marblehead Quarry. He was a United States Army veteran serving in the Battle of the Bulge. He enjoyed coaching little league baseball and he was an avid fisherman and hunter. Surviving are his daughters: Cathy Twining of Marblehead, Micky Nielsen of Marblehead; son: Tim (Kathy) Twining of Ashtabula, OH; sisters: Mary Miller and Lilly Mae Dress both of Marblehead; many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Interment services will be held September 24, 2012 at 10:30 am at Meadow Green Memorial Park, 2602 Bogart Rd., Huron, OH 44839 followed by a bereavement meal at St Paul Lutheran Church, 541 S. Church Rd., Marblehead, OH 43440. Memorial contributions may be given to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
