Raymond J. Nathe

Raymond J. Nathe, 88, of Marblehead, Ohio died Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Browning Masonic Assisted Living Center, Waterville, Ohio. He was born on June 12, 1919 on a farm in Sargent County, North Dakota, the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Schoenborn) Nathe. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army Air Corps-8th Air Force, 2nd Air Division, Navigator (B-24's 30 Missions) to targets in Romania, Germany, DFC. On June 19, 1946, he married Ruth Brorstrom. They lived in Pleasantville, New York for 37 years before retiring to Marblehead, Ohio. Ray was a retired Medical Instrument Designer, a clever designer who did beautiful, precise work. He was also a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Survivors include his 4 children and 10 grandchildren: son: Paul (wife, Regina, grandsons, Matthew and Jefferson); son: Eric (wife, Margaret, grandson, Mark, granddaughters, Katherine and Anne); daughter: Janet Potts (husband, Dr. Donald Potts, grandsons, Daniel and Michael) son: Carl (wife, Ellen, grandsons, Kyle, Andrew, granddaughter, Emily). He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, sister: Irene Luellwitz, and brother: William A. Nathe. There will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marblehead, Ohio on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at 9:00 AM, with Reverend Daniel J. Ring officiating. Interment will be at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, New York at a later date. Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside-Marblehead, is assisting the family with arrangements.
