Raymond Bush, Jr.

Raymond Bush, Jr., 61, of Marblehead, Ohio, and formerly of Mansfield. Ohio, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton. He was born on September 23, 1946 in Mansfield, Ohio, the son of the late Raymond and Peggy Joan (Schupp) Bush, Sr.. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served his country during the Vietnam War. Raymond worked as a production manager for Therm-O-Disc, in Mansfield for 34 years until his retirement in 2001. After moving to Marblehead in 2001, he opened his own landscaping business, "Ray's Lawn and Landscaping" which he continued to operate until this year when it was sold. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sandusky, and for the past six years he was the Director of St. Mary's Community Supper (Soup Kitchen) which is held every Wednesday, and also a member of the outreach committee at St. Mary's. He assisted special agencies in the community in finding help for the unfortunate. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Karen (Whisler) whom he married on March 28, 1965; sons: Jeff (Lani) Bush, Chagrin Falls, Ohio and Mike (Angie) Bush, Abingdon, Virginia; grandsons: Ethan and Adam Bush, Nick, Kolbe, and John Paul Bush; sister: Cindy (Ray) Meyers, Mansfield, Ohio; brother: Greg (Claudia) Bush, Lexington, Ohio; and his faithful dog: Brooke. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6, from 2-4 and 5-8 PM at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Road, Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7, from 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio, with Reverend Phil Feltman officiating. A luncheon will be served in the church hall immediately following the mass. Burial will take place at 3:00 PM in Mansfield Cemetery with military honors being given by members of Richland County's Joint Veterans Burial Detail. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's Parish community supper or for masses.
