Ralph L. Layman

Ralph L. Layman, 82 of Baton Rouge, LA died Sunday, March 14, 2021 at his home under Hospice Care. He was born March 22, 1938 in Genoa, Ohio to Gotlieb and Ella (Tillie) Layman. He graduated from Genoa High School. He married the former Joan Dewitz, and she survives. Ralph retired from Texaco. Ralph enjoyed spending his life with Joan traveling, visiting children and grandchildren, playing at the casinos, golfing, and cards. Survivors include his wife of 63 years Joan of Baton Rouge, LA; children: Sandra (Ed Wagner) Layman of Tucson, AZ, Christopher (Gail) Layman of Sunrise, FL; John Layman of Spring Lake, NC, Brian (Lori) Layman of Saint Gabriel, LA, Michelle (Mark) Moore of Chesapeake, VA and Kevin (Laura) Layman of Baton Rouge, LA; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and his sister Gladys Lutes. He was preceded in death by infant son Michael Ralph Layman; brothers: Kenneth, Russell, and Willard Layman; and sisters: Eileen Hoffman, Phyllis Layman, Mildred Gregg, and Geraldine Grindstaff. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 24, 2021 from 11am - 1:30pm at the Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor Chapel. Public Graveside Services will begin at 2pm on Wednesday, March 24 at the Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor, OH. Memorial Contributions may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
