Ralph E. Radsick, 89, formerly of Graytown, OH died Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Genoa Retirement Village, Genoa, OH. He was born March 23, 1920 in Bono, OH to the late Harmon and Josephine (Sess) Radsick. On November 21, 1939 he married the former Alverna Blausey. Ralph was a well known self employed area builder and farmer. He also worked for the former Matthews Boat Company in Port Clinton as a Union Head, building cabinetry for the boats. In later years he owned and operated an Apple Orchard along with his wife. His family would gather for "Family Day" to pick apples and enjoy family. He was the Patriarch Member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Martin, OH and took pride in belonging to the Oak Harbor High School Athletic Boosters. Mr. Radsick was known for his generous donation of time and talents. He built the Stadium Seating at the former Oak Harbor High School Football Field and the bleachers at Graytown Park. He loved Baseball. He coached the first Little League Team in Graytown. His most memorable trip included a seat at the Major League Baseball All-Star Game held at Wrigley Field. Music was a large part of his life. He played in a Band at "Maple Grove", numerous weddings, and called square dances. He loved life and he loved his family. Survivors include his wife of nearly 70 years Alverna of Genoa; children: Donald (Janet) Radsick of Elmore, OH, Terry "Butch" (Sharon) Radsick of Fremont, OH, David (Gloria) Radsick, of Oak Harbor, Marsha Klein of Oregon, OH, and Roger (Sue) Radsick of Oak Harbor; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 1 great- great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son Ronald, brothers: Joe, Otto, Norman, and Emil Radsick; sisters: Augusta Raber, Emma Warner, Ester Bastubee, and Mildred Youster; 1 great-grandchild, and 1 great-great grandchild. Visitation will be Saturday from 2-9pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Funeral Services will begin at 1pm Sunday, October 25, 2009 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Blackberry with the Rev. Monty Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in Limestone Cemetery, Benton Township. Memorial Contributions are directed to St. Peter Lutheran Church.
