Ralph A. Reif, 85, of Oak Harbor, OH, died Monday, November 14, 2005 at the Ohio Veteran’s Home, Sandusky, OH. He was born in Martin, OH on September 21, 1920, a son of the late Fred & Edna (Wittman) Reif. Mr. Reif married the former Anna J. Harley on August 8, 1942, and she preceded him in death on June 10, 2005. He was a member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. Mr. Reif was a retired farmer and also worked for Buhrow’s, Inc., in Limestone and Elmore, and also the former Winter’s Plumbing & Heating, Oak Harbor. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in central Europe. Mr. Reif is survived by his daughter, Marilyn (Jake) Laughlin, Burgoon, OH; brother, Roger (Marilyn) Reif, Graytown, OH, sister, Betty Millinger, Graytown, OH, sister-in-law, Shirley Reif, Oak Harbor, and brother-in-law, Bruce Kontak. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Jadie and Jim (Jen), and great-grandchildren, Casey, Courtney, and Carissa. He was preceded in death by his brother, Frederick “Joker” Reif, sisters, Margaret Lacer and Phyllis Kontak, and brothers-in-law, Willard Millinger and Morris Lacer. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Thursday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday. Rev. Gerald Bauer will officiate, and interment will be in Elliston Cemetery, Elliston, OH with V.F.W. Post #8732 and American Legion Post #114 conducting military graveside rites.
