R Dean Cleveland

R. Dean Cleveland, 82, of Catawba Island and Georgetown, TX , died Friday September 3, 2010 at his summer residence. He was born February 26, 1928 in Dodge City, Kansas, the son of the late Othal Dean and Alice Elizabeth (Cook) Cleveland. Dean retired in 1982 after a thirty year career as the VP and regional sales manager for Pacific Mutual Life, having earned the professional designations of Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant. He was a Naval veteran of WWII and a graduate of UCLA. He was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, a 32nd degree Mason, Shriner (Al Koran), a member of the Rotary clubs of Independence/Brecksville (Past President) and Georgetown, TX, member of the Nor Easter Club, Catawba Island Club, Sunnybrook Trout Club and a founding member of the Southern Hills YMCA. Dean is survived by his wife Carolyn (Butman Hanover) whom he married on January 12, 1991; sons David (Sharon) Cleveland of Westlake and Brian Cleveland of Broadview Heights; daughters Susan (Hanover) Brudzinski of Weston, FL and Mary Beth (Hanover) Crabb of Houston; grandchildren David Cleveland, Jr. and Sarah Cleveland of Westlake, Brandon Brudzinski of Orlando, Beau Brudzinski of Ft Lauderdale, Reed Crabb and Catherine Crabb of Houston. Dean was preceded in death by his first wife Barbara (Lewellyn) Cleveland.
