Philys A. Shryock

Philys Shryock, 79, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, died Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio. She was born May l1, 1934 in Minneapolis, MN to the late Russell Q. and Alma C. (Casperson) Jensen. She was a graduate of North High School, Minneapolis where she excelled in art. She married Rex Shryock of Medina, NY. She spent most of her working life doing various jobs, but truly enjoyed supervising at ARC in Albion, NY, where she loved working with the handicapped. She held memberships at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, and the Moose Lodge in both Medina, NY and Port Clinton, OH. Survivors include her children: Debra (Brad) Blatt of Oak Harbor, Dawn (Jesse) Rauch of Fremont, OH, and Dan Rauch of Lockport, NY; 1 brother; 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and several others that called her "grandma". She was preceded in death by 1 brother and 2 sisters. There will be no services at this time for Philys. Memorial contributions may be given to the Ottawa County Humane Society.
