Phillip L. Reed

Phillip L. Reed, 71, of Catawba Island, OH passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton, OH. He was born Feb. 26, 1952 in Delaware, OH the son of Charles and Phyllis (Fryman) Reed. He married Barbara Cook on Jan. 29, 1972 and she survives. Phillip worked in the mines at US Gypsum, in maintenance for Silgan Plastics, Marblehead Water Treatment and he was the grounds superintendent for Islander Golf Club. He was an avid Civil War Reenactor, enjoyed doing demolition derbies and playing the banjo. He was a hard-working family man. Family was everything to him, especially his favorite child Maddie the dog.

Surviving are his wife: Barbara; daughter: Destine (Jim) Schwind of Oak Harbor; sons: Philip (Bradly) Reed of Cape Coral, FL, Howard (Jen) Reed of Marblehead, OH; grandchildren: Joshua (Ashley) Reed, Noah Paxson, Jenny (Austin) Engfer, Joey (Haily) Schwind; six great-grandchildren; sisters: Becky (Ken) Larson of California, Janet (Joyce) Reed of California, Roxanne (Theron) Anderson of Marblehead, OH. He was preceded in death by his father: Charles Reed and mother: Phyllis (Fryman) Reed Brassel.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton, OH where funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday, October 28, 2023.
