Philip P. Tate, 65 of Oak Harbor, OH passed away Friday, January 21, 2022 at Bay Park Community Hospital, Oregon, OH following a sudden illness. He was born August 31, 1956 in Ford City, PA to the late Philip and Edna (Johnston) Tate. He was a 1974 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. After 36 years of service, Philip retired in 2011 as an Assistant Field Office Manager for the United States Department of Agriculture. He has since spent the past 5 years working at Happy Hooker Outdoors Oak Harbor, OH. Philip was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved being outdoors. He loved listening to music, and spending time with his family, friends, and dogs Sadie and Sawyer. Survivors include his wife Tricia Velliquette-Tate of Oak Harbor, OH; children: Nancy (Brint) Mitchell of Sylvania, OH, Nikki Hembury of Boulder, CO, Tera (Steve) Anderson of Ventura, CA, Charlee (Brent) Kramer of Fremont, OH, and Adam Losie of Oak Harbor; OH. Siblings: Brenda Kravec, of Niles, OH, Jeff (Tawnya) Tate of Warren, OH, and Jim (Lisa) Tate of Girard, OH; 10 Grandchildren and 7 Nieces and Nephews There will be no services per Philip’s wishes. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Oak Harbor Conservation Club – DARR Wetlands Fund.
