Pete Schad

Roy P. “Pete” Schad, 74, of Oak Harbor died June 2, 2006 at his residence. He was born June 30, 1931 in Dearborn, MI the son of the late Alfred and Beulah (Childs) Schad. He married Sue Burbach on October 26, 1974 and she survives. Pete was a United States Army veteran serving in the Korean War, receiving a Purple Heart. He was a lineman for L.E. Meyers Electric Company. Most recently he was an entertaining bartender at the Oak Harbor Hotel. He was a member of John A. Fader Post 114 of the American Legion, Oak Harbor, where he bowled on their bowling team. He enjoyed nature and giving his time to anyone that needed it. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving is his wife, Sue; daughters: Stacy (Mark) Haeft of Walbridge, OH, Shelly (Tim) Hoffman of Cygnet, OH, Nancy Schad of Ann Arbor, MI; sons, Steven (Violet) Schad of Portland, OR, Brian Schad of Ann Arbor, MI, Gary (Cheryl) Schad of Livonia, MI; 12 grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie Forster of Atlanta, MI, Prudie (Frank) Trimboli of Lake Mary, FL; brother, Ted Schad of Diamonddale, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dale Schad. Visitation will be held Monday, June 5, 2006 at Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor from 4-8 P.M.. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at the Oak Harbor United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Snyder officiating.
