Pearl M. Kersulis

Pearl M. Kersulis, 78, of Port Clinton, Ohio died Monday, August 30, 2010 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton. She was born on April 21, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Joseph and Virginia (Wagner) Valek. On October 6, 1956, she married Donald Kersulis and he survives. Pearl was a Licensed Practical Nurse working for Marymount Hospital in Garfield Heights, Ohio and then at the former Bedford Hospital until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, where she was also a member of the choir. She enjoyed quilting, flower gardening, boating, and fishing. But most importantly, she was a devoted wife and mother, loving grandmother, and a beloved aunt and friend to many. Survivors include her husband: Donald; daughter: Laura (Jim) Kent, of Solon, OH; son: Don (Beth) Kersulis, of Northfield, OH; six grandchildren; sisters: Grace (Ed) Spevak, of Penfield, OH and Joy LePelley, of Hudson, OH; brothers: Joseph (Colleen) Valek, of Bay Village, OH and Robert (Sue) Valek, of Lakewood, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law: Dell LePelley. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, from 9:30 am until prayer services at 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison Street, Port Clinton, with Reverend John C. Missler officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
