Paul W. Stonerook, Jr.

Paul W. Stonerook, Jr., 79, of Green Springs and Isle St. George, Ohio passed away November 6, 2023 at his home. He was born November 26, 1943 on the Lake Erie Island of Isle St. George, Ohio where his many family members lived. He met Ruth Ann Eichler on the island and later married in 1964. Ruth preceded him in death in 2020. Paul was the assistant manager of the grape farm on the island that supplied Meier’s Wine Cellars. He left the island in 1970 to find new opportunities on the mainland. He moved to Marblehead and worked for Island Airlines as a mechanic. He then served an apprenticeship at Chrysler Plastics in Sandusky. Upon completing his apprenticeship, he started working for Ford Motor Company in Sandusky where he worked until retirement in 1996. From the time he could drive, he always owned a boat. He enjoyed taking family vacations, making trips to Isle St. George and was a charter boat captain for 25 years. In 1993 Paul and his brother bought lakefront property on Isle St. George and they built a home together where they lived until they sold it in 2019. Following the sale, Bud and Ruth moved to Green Springs.

Surviving are his sons: Ernie Stonerook of Pemberville, Mike Stonerook of Green Springs; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers: Don Stonerook of Florida, Dale Stonerook of Bellevue, Roger Stonerook of Green Springs. He was preceded in death by his wife: Ruth Ann (Eichler) Stonerook; father: Paul Stonerook, Sr., mother: Connie Stonerook; daughter-in-law: Sarah Neuendorff-Stonerook.
