Paul W. Riehl

Paul W. Riehl, 88, of Catawba Island, Ohio, died Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center in Port Clinton. He was born on September 24, 1922 in Green Springs, Ohio, the son of the late Charles and Isabelle (Rollins) Riehl. He was a 1940 graduate of Green Springs High School. In 1942 he married his first wife, Marjorie Wanstall, with whom he had two children, and she preceded him in death in August of 1984. On January 25, 1986, he married Donna Beck, and she survives. Paul began his working career as a production manager and a tool and die maker at Port Clinton Manufacturing until 1949 when he then became the owner/operator of his own company, Riehl Manufacturing in Port Clinton until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton, where he served as a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a past member and past president of the Port Clinton Kiwanis Club; past member and past president of the Port Clinton Rotary Club; past Commandor of the Port Clinton Yacht Club; an active member of the Port Clinton Elks Lodge #1718; Colonial Club, as well as the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1610 in Port Clinton. He enjoyed his boating, fishing and serving the community. Survivors include his wife: Donna; daughter: Ellen (Charles) Busch, Findlay, Ohio; son: Edward (Colleen) Riehl, Commerce, Michigan; step daughter: Cheryl (Christopher) Petersen, Canton, Michigan; step son: Charles (Laurel) Laubacher, Amherst, Ohio; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; brother: Charles Riehl, Clyde, Ohio; as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; four sisters and one brother. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, Ohio. Funeral services will begin at 10am on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the funeral home, with Father John Missler, officiating. Burial will follow in Catawba Island Cemetery.
