Paul T. Floro Sr., 96 of Elmore, OH died Monday, February 13, 2023 at Bethesda Care Center in Fremont, OH. He was born September 29, 1926 in Clay Center, OH to the late Oliver & Lucy (Meinke) Floro. On January 8, 1949 he married the former Irene Chasteen and she survives. Paul served in the United States Army during WWII, primarily in the Philippines. He retired in 1985 from Libbey-Owens-Ford in Toledo, OH. He was a member of St. Paul-Trinity United Methodist Church, Elmore and Elmore VFW. In his younger days he loved playing baseball, later on working in their yard and keeping up with the Woodmore and Oak Harbor football teams.
Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Irene of Elmore, OH; children: Tom (Lisa) Floro of Elmore, Nancy (Jeff) Wegman of Woodville, OH, Joan Skinner of Elmore, Bill (Terry) Floro of Genoa, OH, Mary (Roger) Massie of Elmore, Shirley Martin of Fremont, OH, and Janet (Michael) Irwin of Oregon, OH; grandchildren: Zachary, Abbey, Ashley, Alex, Brittany, Jeff Jr., Tausha, Michelle, Tiffany, David, Jamie, Stephen, Ryan, Brooke, and Jeremy; and 22 great- grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his infant son Robbie Floro; siblings: brothers Flick, Gib, Roger (Red), Oliver (Peg), and Bill – sisters: Mick, Jane, MaryLou, and Irene. With many special nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8pm at Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elmore-Genoa Chapel, 19550 W. State Route 51, Elmore, OH 43416. Graveside services and burial will be held in the Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery at 10am on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. Memorial Contributions may be made to Elmore American Legion Post #279.
