Paul Herbert McCafferty, 82 of Port Clinton, died peacefully at home on Thursday November 15, 2007. Paul was born May 11, 1925 in Rushville, Ohio, to Floyd and Alice (Dupler) McCafferty. Paul was a salesman for Remarks of Columbus for 30 years. He drove a school bus for the County of Dublin Ohio. He was a redcoat usher at Ohio State football games for many years. He was a member of the Gahanna Kiwanis, Elk’s Lodge 477 of Marietta, Moose Lodge 1610 of Port Clinton and the Eagles Lodge Aerie 2295 of Port Clinton where he served as an officer. He was a charter captain for over 30 years. He loved working and playing golf at the Catawba Willows. He was an enthusiastic Euchre player and loved pitching horseshoes. His latest passion was playing pool. Surviving are his loving wife of 22 years Virginia (West); son David (Carol) of Marietta; daughter Jan Herold of Homebeach, Fla.; stepson Edward West of Columbus; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Helen (Miller). At his request, cremation will take place and no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
