Paul C. Schmiel, 81, of Marblehead and formerly of Strongsville died Sunday, July 4, 2010 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, OH. He was born July 10, 1928 in Tuscon, AZ the son of the late Robert and Martha (Bisler) Schmiel. He married Nora Hach in 1950 and she survives. Mr. Schmiel was a general contractor and also worked as an electrical contractor for Collier Construction of Strongsville, OH. He owned Maplewood Cove in Marblehead, a Dairy Queen in Strongsville in the 60's and he previously co-owned Mike's Place in Marblehead, OH. He was a graduate of North Royalton High School. He enjoyed following the Cleveland Cavs and Browns and was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed playing dartball for the Marblehead VFW. Surviving are his wife: Nora, daughters: Bontia (John) Heyman of Lorain, OH, Judith (Michael) Baker of Sandusky, OH, Susan (James) Cawrse of Chesapeake, VA, Debbie (Glenn) Roderick of Parma, OH; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers: Ron Schmiel of Richfield, OH, Robert Schmiel of Garrettsville, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: George Schmiel, William Schmiel and grandson Charles Heyman. Visitation will be held Friday, July 9, 2010 from 12:00 4:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, LakesideMarblehead, OH where funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 pm.
