Paul A. Laderach

Paul A. Laderach, of Oak Harbor, OH, who celebrated his 99th birthday on December 18, died at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor, on December 23, 2016. Paul was born on December 18, 1917 in Pandora, OH, a son of the late Adolph & Christine (Weber) Laderach. He was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School and attended the University of Toledo College of Business. He worked at the Ayling & Reichert Company, Oak Harbor, from his youth to retirement, and then worked in his retirement at Priesman Printery, Oak Harbor until he was 90. A proud veteran of World War II, Paul served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of American Legion Post #114 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #8732, where he was a past commander. Paul was a member of Oak Harbor Lodge, #495 Free & Accepted Mason., the former Oak Harbor Chaper #131, Order of the Eastern Star, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Toledo, and Zenobia Shrine, where he was a piper in the Highlanders Unit. A longtime member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor, he was the Patriarch or oldest member of the church. He was also a former member of the Oak Harbor Rotary Club. On April 23, 1942, he married the former Marion E. Zingg, and she preceded him in death on May 13, 2013 after 71 years of marriage. Paul is survived by his children, Linda Laderach, Dale (Laura) Laderach, Robert (Julia) Laderach, and Timothy (Jody)Laderach; grandchildren, Alison (Kacy) Culver, Todd (Katherine) Laderach, Thomas (Karen) Laderach, Timothy (Elissa) Laderach and Samuel Laderach; and great grandchildren Nicholas, Madison and Dominic. He was preceded in death by brothers, John, George, Henry, Rudolph, William, and Richard, and his sister, Marguerite. Friends may call from 2-8 P.M. Wednesday at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, December 29, 2016 at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor. Rev. David A. Voll will officiate, and interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery, Walbridge, OH, where graveside rites will be conducted by members of V.F.W. Post #8732 and American Legion Post #114. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of St. Paul United Church of Christ, the Scholarship Fund or General Fund of VFW Post 8732, or Stein Hospice.
