Paul A. Gdovicak, 89, of Oak Harbor, OH, died Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton, OH. He was born on August 14, 1928, a son of the late Peter & Anna (Druzbacky) Gdovicak. Paul was raised in Marblehead, and attended school there. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Italy at the close of World War II, and worked at the former Erie Army Depot following his discharge. Paul also worked at Northern Manufacturing in Oak Harbor, and worked for many years at Ford Motor Company in Sandusky, retiring in 1991. An active member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor, Paul was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. On September 14, 1963, he married the former Marilyn Winke of Oak Harbor, and she preceded him in death on January 21, 1973. Paul is survived by his children, Scott Gdovicak and Lisa Meyer, both of Oak Harbor, and his granddaughter, Samantha Meyer. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Patrick, Joseph, John (Chuck), and Michael Gdovicak; and sisters, Helen Veverka, Ann Luska, and Bette Twarek. Family and friends are invited to call from 1-5 & 6-8 P.M. Friday at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, December 16, 2017 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor, where visitation will be held after 12:30 P.M. Saturday. Rev. Timothy F. Ferris will officiate, and interment will follow at Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Following the services, a luncheon will be served in the undercroft of St. Boniface Church. Those planning on making memorial contributions may wish to consider St. Boniface School, the Oak Harbor Public Library, the Alzheimers Association, or the Foundation for PoTS Research.
