Paul A. Dubbert

Paul A. Dubbert, 77, of Port Clinton Ohio died Sunday, July 29, 2012 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born July 8, 1935 in Port Clinton, the son of the late John and Elsie (Lacumsky) Dubbert. He was a veteran of the United States Army Corps of Engineers, serving his country during the Korean War. On October 6, 1962 he married Linda Holmes and she survives. Paul began his working career as a mason tender and then became a carpenter, working for Mosser Construction, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the Fremont Carpenter's Union #744 for 55 years; member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Danbury Township; life member of the Marblehead VFW Post #7572; member of the Sandusky American Legion Post #83; and member of the peninsula dartball league which later became the Lutheran Church dartball league. His hobbies included fishing, deer hunting, rabbit hunting, duck hunting, and bowling, where he bowled several times in the VFW state tournament. He was also the first mate on Charlie Eulitt's boat named "Good Time Charlie" docked at Wild Wings Marina. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns. Most importantly, he loved and adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include his wife: Linda; daughter: Susan (Ray) Boe, Cape Coral, Florida; grandchildren: Anna Bowman, John Koch; great grandchildren: Caydence Bowman and Talon Bowman; niece: Linda Guiher, Marblehead; nephews: Ralph Dubbert, Jr., Sandusky, Ohio; Ronnie Dubbert, Oak Harbor, Ohio; Gary Walker, Florida; sisters in law: Betty Dubbert, Port Clinton; Sandra Walker, Naples, Florida; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Ralph and Elton Dubbert; nephew: Larry Walker; and great-great nephew: Howard "Howie" Bartzen. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2012 from 2-4 and 5-8pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 7755 E. Harbor Road, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio. On Friday, August 3, 2012 additional visitation will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 541 S. Church Road, Lakeside-Marblehead from 10am until funeral services at 11am with Pastor Christina L. Young officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery with military honors being given by members of the Marblehead VFW Post #7572.
