Orin E. Lessentine

Orin E. "Tubby" Lessentine, 81, of Port Clinton, died Feb. 21, 2008 at Riverview Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor, OH. He was born Jan. 2, 1927 in Lakeside, the son of Viola Bertha (Lessentine) Mack. He married Heraldeen Blood and she preceded him in death. Mr. Lessentine worked for the LakesideMarblehead Railroad as a brakeman and later for Ford Motor Co. in Sandusky. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Marblehead, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1610, Port Clinton, and the American Legion. He enjoyed collecting objects of art, he would visit friends in nursing homes every Sunday, loved going to yard sales and he was a local historian for events on the Marblehead Peninsula. Surviving are his daughter Jill Ferrari of Nashville, NC, Mary Ann Eastham of Chesapeake, OH, Crystal Lessentine of Sebastian, FL, Jodie Taylor of Sebastian, FL; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother: Ross (Marjorie) Lessentine of New Orleans, LA; cousin: JoAnn Carrender of Marblehead; special friends: Pat & Hilda Collins of Port Clinton and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, wife and loving companion Vanetta Brought. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, LakesideMarblehead, OH where visitation will be held Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. Pastor Chris Young will be officiating. Burial will be in Sackett Cemetery, Danbury Township. Memorial contributions may be given to Stein Hospice or St. John Lutheran Church, Marblehead, OH.
