Norman H. Kroos

Norman H. Kroos, 75, of Elmore, OH died Monday, August 17, 2009 at St. Charles Mercy Hospital, Oregon, OH. He was born April 8, 1934 in Toledo, OH to the late Henry and Sara (Overmyer) Kroos. He was a 1952 graduate of Harris-Elmore High School and a Veteran of the United States Army. On November 24, 1956 he married the former Gladys Avers and she survives. Norman worked for U.S. Gypsum in Genoa, OH until his employment at Sun Oil Company in Oregon from which he retired in 1989 after 32 years as a parts manager. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Elmore where he served in various committees and offices. He was a past volunteer Fireman and Council Member for the Village of Elmore, served on the Board of Directors for the Elmore Retirement Village and Sun Federal Credit Union in Oregon. Norman was a simple and generous man who enjoyed fishing, bowling, reading, and attending his children and grandchildren's' sporting events. Survivors include his wife of 52 years Gladys of Elmore; sons: James (Donna) Kroos of Moseley, VA, Lee (Mary) Kroos of Okemos, MI; daughters: Mary (Shawn) Jacoby of Pemberville, OH, Janet Kroos of Elmore; brother Kenneth (Kathy) Kroos of Drexel Hill, PA; sisters: Peg (Bruce) Sherk of Ventura, CA, Barbara Pasty of Elmore; Aunt Annabelle Kulwicki of Elmore; and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother- in- law Ronald Pasty. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-9pm with the family present from 2-5 & 7-9pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore. Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 21, 2009 at 11am at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Stephen Lutz officiating. Burial will be in Harris- Elmore Union Cemetery.
