Norman G. Reed

August 29, 1922 — July 24, 2023

Norman G. Reed, 100, of Catawba Island, Ohio, Fenton, Michigan,

Caseville, Michigan and Anna Maria Island, Florida, passed away

Monday, July 24, 2023 in Port Clinton, OH. He was born August 29,

1922 in Milford, MI the son of Norman and May Belle (Westfall) Reed.

He married Virginia Hope (Hamilton) on May 24, 1946 and she preceded

him in death on Nov. 28, 2014. Norman was a Tool & Die Maker for

GM-Fisher Body Plant. He was a United States Army Veteran serving

under Gen. George Patton and Gen. Mark Clark in World War II. He was

stationed in Italy and while there learned to speak Italian. He was a

member of First Presbyterian Church in Fenton, MI. He was very

devoted to his family and would do anything for anyone.


Surviving are his daughters: Drusilla (Charles) Beyer of Crossville,

TN, Patricia (Jafar) Shah of Oak Brook, IL, Lucinda Lynn (Richard) St.

Martin of Catawba Island, ; grandchildren: Tasha (Dean) Holland,

Sabeena (Joseph) Hubbard, Corinne (Jeremy) Stone,  Mark (Janette) St. Martin, Kaiser (Jamie) Shah,

Tana (John Edson) Shah, Rachel (Shane) Worthing, Mark (Jenny) Ragnone

II, Jalaal (Laila) Shah; great-grandchildren: Emma, Grady & Mila

Holland, Aiden, Luqman, Julian & Dean Hubbard, Layla & Ava Stone,

Lila, Kaian, Reis & Jaden Samadani, Abigail, Amelia & William

Worthing, Mark Ragnone III, Darien & Greyson Shah, Elizabeth St.

Martin and two on the way. We all feel so sad but profoundly

grateful for the boundless love, joy, pride and humor he brought to

our lives. He was also extremely devoted to his wife: Virginia Hope

Reed, his six brothers and three sisters and his granddaughter,

Lindsay Rhea Crawford who all passed before him. Our father’s passing

comes with sorrow and grief. He was a great fire who burned bright

and we live in his light and warmth. We know that his flame lives on

in each of us. The days and years will not be the same without our

dad…but they will be good days, filled with life and love because of

the example he lived for us.

A Celebration of his Life and interment will be held

12:30 pm Friday October 6, 2023 at Great-Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd. Holly, MI

immediately followed by a luncheon at Brick Street Bar & Grill, Grand Blanc, MI.  Online
