Norman Allen Simon, Sr.

Norman Allen Simon, Sr., age 69, died on Friday, August 30, 2013 at Tuomey Medical Center, Sumter, SC. Norman was born in Port Clinton, Ohio on June 23, 1944, he was the son of the late Ford Simon and Ruth Steller Simon. Mr. Simon was a graduate of Port Clinton High School, Central Carolina Community College and was retired from Exide Battery Company. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a man with many hobbies and will be remembered as a loving father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. Surviving are his children, Norman Allen Simon, Jr. and his wife Tiffany; Denise Marie Simon Stout and Desiree Dawn Simon Lucia all of Sumter; two sisters, Phyllis Howell and her husband Ron of Port Clinton, Ohio and Alcenia Wright of Norman, OK; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mr. Simon was preceded in death by his sister: Alena Stevenson. Graveside services were held at Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton.
