Nina A. Kumpula

Nina A. Kumpula, 94, of Port Clinton, Ohio and formerly of Detroit, Michigan, died Thursday, July 3, 2008 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, Ohio. She was born on June 18, 1914, in Calumet, Michigan, the daughter of the late Matthew and Helga (Riihimaki) Kumpula. Nina was a phone operator for AT & T, formerly known as Michigan Bell, in Detroit Michigan until her retirement in 1979. Survivors include her great nieces and nephews: David S. Koskela, Fremont, OH; Deborah S. Miller, Napoleon, OH; Bradley W. Koskela and Juliane Loeffler, both of Port Clinton, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Elsie Hill, Flora Kumpula, Ruby Koskela; brother: Rueben Kumpula, and her nephew and niece- in-law: John I.A. and Sherol Koskela. There will be no local visitation or services. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Calumet, Michigan.
