Nellie Charlene Lee passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Orchard Villa Nursing Home in Oregon, Ohio. She was born on November 20, 1950 in Binghamton, New York, one of the daughters of the late William and Opal (Jones) Chance. Mother Lee worked as a lab tech for 32 years at the United States Gypsum Company in Gypsum, Ohio until her retirement in 2009. She was a member of Good Shepherd Church of God in Christ in Port Clinton, where she served faithfully as one of the mothers of the church. She was a quiet and loving young lady, who loved God and his word. She was known as a woman of faith and was often found reading her bible and quoting scripture. She enjoyed cooking, loved to go to church, but her passion in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband: Larry Lee of Port Clinton ; son: Anthony Lee, Port Clinton; daughters: Regina Lee, North Carolina; Anita (Nicholas) Abrego, Port Clinton; Doris Lee, Port Clinton; Jackie Lee, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren; great-grandson, Jairaj; sisters: Oretta (Arthur) Smith, Port Clinton; Lorraine Lee, Phoenix, AZ; brothers: Todd (Gerlene) Chance, Fremont; Gary (Brenda) Chance, Cincinnati; as well as a host of friends and well-wishers. Visitation will be held at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, on Saturday, January 18, 2014 from 11:30am until 12:30pm. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Shepherd Church of God in Christ, 327 Superior Court, Port Clinton, Ohio 43452.
