Myra L. (Peart) Prokop, 67, of Marblehead, Ohio passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. She was born on February 24, 1949 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Waldo (deceased) and Leah (Schwab) Peart. She was a 1967 graduate of Maple Heights High School and a 1971 graduate of Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, where she earned her BA degree in Christian Education. On June 19, 1971 she married Bruce E. Prokop and he preceded her in death on November 20, 1991. Myra was a teacher for St. Peter Lutheran School in Indianapolis, Indiana and also at Hums Elementary in Mishawaka, Indiana. For the past 26 years, she owned and operated Taylor's Resort in Marblehead. She was a devoted member of St. John Lutheran Church, Marblehead and St. Paul Lutheran Church, Danbury Twp. Myra was active in the Marblehead community and volunteered in numerous organizations including the Marblehead Chamber of Commerce, Holiday Bureau, St. John WELCA, and World Wide Shop. During her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her many friends, reading, traveling, visiting and collecting lighthouses, and was an avid shopper. Survivors include her son, Brad (Shannon) Prokop, Marblehead; mother Leah, Wauseon, Ohio; sisters, Waneta Peart, Yardley, Pennsylvania and Nancy Elizabeth (David) Peart-Markt, Melrose, Massachusetts; sister-in-law, Pam (Al) Hustosky, Northfield, Ohio; nieces and nephews: Natalie and Ryan Hustosky, Leah and Cameron Markt; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 7755 E. Harbor Road, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 11am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 541 Church Road, Danbury Twp, with Pastor Christina L. Young officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice, St. John Lutheran Church, or to the Holiday Bureau.
