Miles E. Kline, 83, of Oak Harbor, OH, died Monday evening at the University of Toledo Medical Center, Toledo, OH. He was born in Toledo on June 18, 1923, a son of the late Miles S. & Ethel (Place) Kline. Mr. Kline attended Scott High School. He was inducted into the U.S. Navy in 1941 was discharged in 1960, after serving nearly 20 years. On October 28, 1947, he married the former Elizabeth Demeter at St. John Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge, OH. Mr. & Mrs. Kline lived in San Diego, CA and Annapolis, MD during his Navy years, and after his discharge, they moved to Lincoln, NB. While in Lincoln, Mr. Kline worked as an electrician for the Motorola Corporation. In 1962, they moved back to Ohio, and he worked at Plumbrook in Sandusky, OH, and the former Kelsey-Hayes Corporation, Fremont, OH, from where he retired in 1988. Mr. Kline was an active member of the Oak Harbor Conservation Club and greatly enjoyed competitive pistol shooting and muzzle loading. He loved spending time at home with his family and friends. Mr. Kline was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth, on February 7, 2005. He is survived by his son, Terry (Joan) Kline, Oak Harbor; sisters, Sharon Zoll, Grand Junction, CO, Delores Buhrow, Oak Harbor, and Nina (Walt) Reinbolt, Luckey, OH; sisters-in-law, Ann Domokos, Oak Harbor, and Ethel Demeter, Orwell, OH. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Neal Kline, and sisters, Virginia Morrow and Donna Thompson. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 28, 2007 at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor, with the Rev. David A. Voll officiating. A luncheon will be served following the service in the Social Room of the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oak Harbor Conservation Club or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
