Mildred K. Vasill

Mildred K. Vasill, 83 of Graytown, OH died Sunday, June 19, 2011 at St. Charles Mercy Hospital, Oregon, OH. She was born April 19, 1928 to the late John and Anna (Appelhans) Distel. On November 12, 1949 she married James J. Vasill at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Bono, OH. He preceded her in death July 2, 2003. Mrs. Vasill was a 70 year member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church prior to being a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Genoa for the past 13 years. She enjoyed being surrounded by her grandchildren and later, her great- grandchildren. Survivors include her sons: James J. (Cindy) Vasill Jr and David P. (Lynn) Vasill both of Graytown; 7 grandchildren; 4 great- grandchildren; and brother Jake (Rosemary) Distel of Graytown. She was also preceded in death by and infant granddaughter Lindsey Vasill, sisters: Agnes Brown, Mary Tomor, Katherine Detzel, Rose Sievert, and Barbara Hemminger; and brothers: Joe, John, Andrew and Pious Distel. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-9pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, where a Parish Wake Service will be held Wednesday evening at 8:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am, Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Genoa, with the Rev. David L. Ritchie celebrant. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Those wishing to make contributions may do so in the form of Masses in her honor.
