Mick E. Vanhoose

Mick E. VanHoose, 52, of Port Clinton, OH, died Wednesday, April 5, 2006 in Port Clinton. He was born Feb. 21, 1954 in Port Clinton, a son of Curt and Grace (Simon) VanHoose. He married Ana Santiago on October 8, 2005 and she survives. Mr. VanHoose was the Director of the Ability Center of Ottawa County and was a member and past Board member of the Port Clinton Kiwanis Club; Member of the Ottawa County Transportation Agency Board of Directors; former member of Oak House Board of Directors; President, Rose Acre Manor Board of Directors; Chairman, Port Clinton ADA Committee; Member of the Ottawa Council of Health and Social Concerns, on which he served both the Housing and Advocacy Committees; Member of the Ottawa County Housing Collaborative; Member of the Association of Programs for Rural Independent Living; Member of the Post-Polio Association; Past Member of the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority Americans with Disabilities Advisory. He was a well known man who everyone knew. He loved children, reading and computers. Surviving are his wife: Ana; parents, Curt and Grace VanHoose of Port Clinton; brother: Keith VanHoose of Port Clinton; sisters: Karen Sue Garza, Julie Reifsnyder, and Denise Ambrozy all of Port Clinton; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. James Lehman at 11 A.M. Monday, April 10, 2006 at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, where the family will receive friends from 2- 4 and 7-9 P.M. Sunday. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. Memorial contributions may be made to Ability Center of Ottawa County for an Accessible Ramp Program.
