Michael A. Monak

Michael A. Monak, 46, of Columbus, Ohio and formerly of Marblehead, Ohio passed away with his family by his side on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born on April 13, 1970 in Sandusky, Ohio, the son of Richard and Janet Monak. Michael struggled with Muscular Dystrophy since early childhood. He was a 1988 graduate of Danbury High School. Michael worked in the accounting department at Worthington Cylinders in Worthington, Ohio. He was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marblehead, and enjoyed hunting , fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his loving parents, Dick and Janet, of Marblehead; brother, Brian (Amy) Monak, of Huron, Ohio; niece, Madison; nephew, Max; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 10am until a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 Barclay Street, Marblehead, with Father James Brown officiating. There will be a light luncheon held in the parish hall immediately following the service. Burial will be private at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Marblehead. Memorial contributions may be given to the donor's favorite charity.
