May E. Odom

May E. Odom, 85, of Oak Harbor, OH, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio. She was born in Oak Harbor on May 31, 1932, a daughter of the late Frederick & Esther (Williams) Baumgartner. May was a former employee of Druckenmiller Insurance Agency, the Ottawa County Farm Bureau, Landmark, and Luckey Farmers. Active in the community, May was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Auxiliary, Port Clinton, the American Legion Auxiliary of Post #114, Oak Harbor, Elks Lodge #1718, Port Clinton, VFW Post #2480, Port Clinton, the Rebekahs in Port Clinton, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie 2295 in Port Clinton and Aerie 712 in Fremont. She was also a loyal member of the Oak Harbor Browns Backers. On June 20, 1964, she married William J. "Bill" Odom, and he preceded her in death on February 14, 1979. May is survived by her niece, Darla (Jim) Madison, of North Olmsted, OH; and nephew, Terry (Mary) Schultz of Fort Wayne, IN. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Lois M. Draves; brothers, Virgil F. Baumgartner and Frederick Baumgartner, Jr.; brothers-in-law, Alfred Schultz and Harold Draves; sister-in-law, Fern Baumgartner; niece, Connie Trimble, and nephew, Reggie K. Schultz. Friends may call from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M. Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor, where funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Interment will follow at Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Following the services, there will be a luncheon at American Legion Post #114, Oak Harbor.
