May E. Krumnow

May E. Krumnow, 88, of Elliston, OH, died Monday, February 27, 2006 at St. Charles Mercy Hospital, Oregon, OH. She was born in Allen Township, Ottawa County on January 24, 1918, a daughter of the late William A.H. & Eva (Sampson) Lemke. Mrs. Krumnow was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Elliston, where she helped with church dinners and was a former Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, canning, and baking coffee cakes. Mrs. Krumnow was a former employee of the S.E. Heyman Company, Fremont, OH. She married Julius F. Krumnow on June 8, 1938, and he preceded her in death on January 15, 1992. Surviving are her children, Leona (Ray) Sondergeld, Genoa, OH, Lester Krumnow, Elmore, OH, Vera (Glenn) Sager, Graytown, OH, Gary (Leah) Krumnow, Clyde, OH, Brenda Krumnow, Port Clinton, OH; daughter-in-law, Rita Lemke, Gibsonburg, OH; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Lois (Howard) Wegman, Pemberville, OH; Kathryn Wilka, Williston, OH; brother, Richard (Frances) Lemke, Genoa, OH. She was also preceded in death by a son, Gordon Lemke; grandsons, Don Sondergeld and James Lemke; brothers, John Lemke, Walter Lemke, and Paul Lemke; and sisters, Lucille Harsanje, Irene Krumnow, and Ruth Krumnow. Friends may call from 2-9 P.M. Wednesday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore, where the family will be present from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday at Trinity United Church of Christ, Elliston, with the Rev. Lowell Peters officiating. Interment will be in Elliston Cemetery.
