Maryann Louise Wansitler, 66 of Oak Harbor, OH died Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Mercy- St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, OH. She was born June 6, 1956 in Mt. Clemens, MI to the late William and Charlene (Busuttil) McEachin. She was a 1974 graduate of Anchor Bay High School in New Baltimore, MI. She received her Bachelor of Science in Christian Education from Capital University in 1978. She would later receive her teaching certificate from Bowling Green State University. On June 21, 1980 she married Rev. Dennis L. Wansitler and he survives. Maryann was a grade school teacher for many years with the Lakota School District retiring in 2021. She then spent a few years in the Benton-Carroll-Salem School District as a talented reading teacher. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, where she played in the Bell Choir. She also assisted many children throughout the years as a tutor.
Survivors include her husband Rev. Dennis Wansitler of Oak Harbor, sons: Charles Wansitler of Bellevue, OH, Gabe (Julie) Wansitler of Columbus, OH, Paul (Sarah) Wansitler of Fremont, OH, and Christopher Wansitler of Oak Harbor; grandchild Olivia, and one due to arrive in September, and sister Karen McEachin. She was also preceded in death by her brother William “Billy” McEachin and nephew William McEachin.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8pm at Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor Chapel. Graveside services will begin at 11am on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Grand Love.
