Mary Z. Karniotis, born on September 10th, 1923, received her travel papers to enter the Lord's house on Thursday, September 14th, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Christ Emmanuel Karniotis. Mary is survived by her children Irene (Al) Foland, Emmanuel Michael (Rhanda) Karniotis, and Stephen Paul (Barbara) Karniotis; by her brother Andrew Zangkas; by her grandchildren Stephanie Marie (Peter) Kowal, Dr. Jason Anthony (Dr. Amy) Foland, Christina Ann (Ron) Thomas, Jeremy Allen (Tracy) Foland, Constance Angela (Greg) Richter, Christopher Adam (Vicky) Foland, Alexander Calvert and Andrea Calvert; by her great grandchildren Quincy Kowal, Cooper Kowal, Zachary Foland, Alexandra Kate Foland, Theodore Thomas, Oliver Thomas, Grace Foland, Abigail Foland, Justin Caspary and Jacob Foland. Family will receive friends Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 2-8 p.m. with Trisagion at 7 p.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Rd. (between Maple and Big Beaver), 248-362-2500. Funeral Service Friday, September 29, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 760 W. Wattles, Troy.
