Pauline Chapman, 94, of Port Clinton, Ohio died Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton, Ohio. She was born on October 16, 1916 in Rainsboro, Ohio, the daughter of Reverend Thomas and Mary Maude (Bissinger) Smith. On October 13, 1931 she married Dr. Glenn Chapman and he preceded her in death on February 19, 1995. From an early age Pauline had an adventurous spirit. People were drawn to her wonderful sense of humor, great big smile and the twinkle that always shown in her eyes. She found much joy on her annual trips "Up North" to Mackinac Island, her many trips to Amish Country, and travels across the globe. Summer visits to Lakeside held a special place in her heart. But she would tell everyone she knew that nothing brought her greater happiness than time spent with her family. Quiet rides to the river, meals shared, game nights, and holidays were the times she most cherished. The love she poured into raising her seven children is evident in the close bonds they share with each other and their own children. Her priceless wisdom and advice will be sorely missed. She was a precious treasure, a beautiful gem inside and out. She sparkled and shined and lit up everywhere she went.
