Mary "Marie" Throne

Mary "Marie" Throne, 94, of Temperence, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Toledo Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. She was born on March 10, 1924 in Wigglesworth, England, a daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Taylor) Dixon. On March 3, 1945 she married Leon Throne and he preceded her in death on October 11, 2002. Marie was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Port Clinton. She also enjoyed being a stay at home Mom. She was a wonderful cook, and was a marvelous seamstress, often making her children's clothes. She was also an avid reader. Recently, one of her favorite pastimes was playing games with her friends at the Moongate Apartment Community Complex in Temperence, Michigan where she was a resident. Survivors include her daughters, Jeanette Throne of Shaker Heights, Ohio and Barbara (Scott) Hall of Bowling Green, Ohio; grandchildren, Tisha Throne and Craig (Brandy) Throne; great-grandson, Tyler Delarosa; sister, Margaret Hogg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son and daughter in-law, Spencer (Cheryl) Throne, brother, Sam Dixon, and sister, Lily Kearny. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Burial and Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 11 am at Riverview Cemetery in Port Clinton with Reverend Ted Austin officiating.
