Mary M Johnson

Mary M. Johnson, 83, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Monday, February 17, 2014. She was born on March 29, 1930 in Port Clinton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Clarence and Catherine (Fitzthum) Snyder. On February 7, 1948 she married L.B. Johnson and he preceded her in death on March 28, 2002. Mary worked at the former Silgan Plastics in Port Clinton until her retirement in 1993. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton where she was very active in the Altar-Rosary Society St. Vincent DePaul Society, and the funeral luncheon committee. She was also a member of the Port Clinton American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, quilting, singing with Theresa Rollo "The Accordian Lady and her friends" and dancing with the "Silver Steppers". Most importantly, she loved God and her family. Survivors include her sons: John (Dolores Atwood) Johnson, Clymer, New York and Burton (Lori) Johnson, Port Clinton; daughter: Barbara (Skip) Neatfeld, Oak Harbor, Ohio; daughter-in-law: Becky Johnson, Port Clinton; grandchildren: Jill Johnson, Megan Johnson, Jason (Cindy) Michael, Matthew (Dawn) Michael, Steven (Katie) Johnson, Brandy (Brian Shiets) Johnson, Emily (Tony) Sweeney, Burton (Kelley Folger) Johnson; seven great-grandchildren; sister: Catherine (Morris "Mick") Mallory, Port Clinton; and brother: Robert (Patsy) Snyder, Danbury Township. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son: Stephen Johnson; son: Bruce Johnson; and brothers: Bill, Edward, George, Clarence Snyder, and punkin her cat. Visitation will be held at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, Ohio on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 10am until noon. At 12:15pm members of the Altar Rosary Society will pray the rosary at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison Street, Port Clinton, with Father John C. Missler officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society or to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
