Mary “Kay” Harper, 81, of Port Clinton and Englewood, FL passed away Friday, April 21, 2023 at Englewood Hospital. She was born January 27, 1942 in Ironton, OH the daughter of John Anthony and Letitia (Travis) Truchoweski. She was a 1960 graduate of Saint Joseph High School. She married Jerry Harper on March 23, 1962 and he preceded her in death on March 15, 2020. Jerry and Kay were married in Ironton and after a few years relocated to Port Clinton to raise their family.
Mary Kay was a union painter. Kay and Jerry became snowbirds in Englewood, Florida after their retirement. She was active in their Florida Community engaging in performing arts, bicycling, kayaking, gardening, exercising and enjoying the beach. She loved spending time with her family. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton.
Surviving are her children: Nick Harper, Kathy (Thomas) Boreman, Kerryn (William) Lockhart all of Port Clinton; grandchildren: Steven Harper of Port Clinton, Rachel Boreman of Granview, OH, Danielle (Chase) Holt of Reynoldsburg, OH, Dr. Kayla (Dr. Travis Pagareski) Lockhart of Berkey, OH. Aaron (Morgan) Lockhart of Fremont; great-granddaughter: Harper Ann Holt; sisters: Jane (Tom) Kearns of Leesburg, FL, Deborah (Perry) McClintic of Wheelersburg, OH and special friend Ray Bardwell of Englewood, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers: Jackie Truchoweski, James
Truchoweski and sister: Lois (Charles) Wilson.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Friday, April 28, 2023 at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton St. Port Clinton with visitation at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Catawba Island Cemetery. Fr. Jonathon Wight will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison St. Port Clinton, OH 43452.
