Mary Jane Witt

Mary Jane Witt died March 12, 2012 at Mercy St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo 3 days before her 92nd birthday. She was born March 15, 1920 in Toledo to Joseph and Bertha (Von Thron) Cavalier of Oak Harbor and was a graduate of Salem Oak Harbor High School in 1938 and Stautzenberger Business College. On September 14, 1946 she married Herbert Witt and he preceded her in death on February 23, 1999. She retired from Young's Floor Covering after 20 years, was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish for 66 years, and its Altar Rosary Society serving as an officer. She was also a charter member of Infant of Prague Study Club and volunteered for many years at Holiday Bureau and theWSOS Food Distribution. Surviving are daughters Kathleen (Marc) Brown of Coral Springs, FL, Christine (Eric) Shumaker of Moscow, ID, son Michael (Toni Douge) Witt of Oak Harbor, special niece Judy (John) Brown of Las Vegas, NV. 5 grandchildren Lisa (Kevin) Marino, Shad (Jennifer) Brown, Andrea (Jacob) Land, Amy (Jeremy) Shummaker-Hall and Ryan Shumaker. 8 great- grandchildren Cody and Taylor Marino, Jordan, Jaelyn, Jakson and Jagger Brown, Macall Land, Mason Shumaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Helen Otremba, brothers James and Paul Cavalier and Joseph Cavalier who died in infancy and special nephew John Mazurowski. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Memorial services will be held at Neidecker, LeVeck and Crosser Funeral Home on Saturday, March 17 at 2 PM with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Parish.
