Mary Irene Smith Horn Colon-Arvelo, 70, of Willard, Ohio and formerly of Sandusky and Port Clinton passed away on Nov. 9, 2012 at Gaymont Nursing Center, Norwalk, OH. She was born in Port Clinton, Ohio to John L. Smith and Mary L. (Neff) Smith. Mary had worked at previous jobs such as Underwoods Restaurant, Travelers Inn, The Island House Hotel as a mixologist. Later in life she worked at H & R Block in Sandusky as a tax preparer and also at an Adult Group Home. Mary's interest include working in her herb garden and she loved working with flowers. Mary had a lot of other interests such as making floral arrangements for anyone that needed one. Reading her books, playing Scrabble and being there for family and loving family time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mary was an encyclopedia of knowledge and did everything with a passion. Survivors include her children: Carrie Sue Horn Silverwood, Kenneth R. Horn, Jr., Sharon Ann (Steve) Perkins and Jennifer L Horn (Ray) Hayes; two sisters: Sharon L. (Mike) Fought and Ruth P. (Roger) Havens; grandchildren: Kendra Horn, Jessica Torres, Amanda and Ashley Hayes; great-grandchildren: Caleb, William and Annaliese Torres, Ryleigh and Casey Hayes Houser; two uncles: Donald L. Smith of Sandusky, Thomas C. Neff, Sr. of Port Clinton. Mary had two past husbands: Kenneth Ray Horn, Sr. (Deceased) and Edwin Colon-Arvelo. Mary has many surviving cousins, nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by sisters: Anna M. Smith, 1991 and Darlene L. Smith, 2004 also by her parents, Dad in 2006 and Mom in 2001. Mary is also survived by her many loving extended family and her life long friends. She will be greatly missed and loved by many. Graveside services will be conducted 11:30 am Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton.
