Mary Ellen Raypole

Mary Ellen Raypole, 87, of Port Clinton, died Monday, August 26, 2013 at Otterbein North Shore Jane Baker House, Lakeside, OH. She was born Sept. 4, 1925 in Toledo, OH the daughter of Stephen and Mary (Hermes) Winke. She married Ray Raypole on Sept. 20, 1952 and he preceded her in death on June 18, 2001. Mrs. Raypole was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton, OH. She was an avid bowler, golfer and a member of the Ladies Elks. She bowled in the tuesday night ladies bowling league where she was treasurer for 21 years and was a member of the 600 bowling club. She coached Banum Bowling for 30 years. She golfed in the Thursday morning ladies Elks Golf league and she enjoyed playing cards at the Elks. Surviving are her sons: Alan Raypole of Port Clinton, Kevin Raypole of Port Clinton; daughter: Karen (Jerry) Moffett of Marblehead; grandchildren: Justin (Mikaele) Majeroni, Sarah (Ted) Wierzba, Brian Cultice, Kevin Raypole, Brad (Kristin) Moffett; great-grandchildren: Aidan, Logan, Thaddeus, Ashlyn, and Mackenzie; brothers: Richard (Jean) Winke of Port Clinton, Francis Winke of Oak Harbor, Larry (Debbie) Winke of Indiana; sisters: Laverne (Michael) Ferdon of Port Clinton, Carolyn Kranz of Boynton Beach, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: John Winke, Robert Winke, Gerald Winke; sisters: Madonna Ashton, Rosella Thompson and Rita Greer. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton where visitation will be held Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Father John Missler will officiate. Interment will follow in Christy Chapel Cemetery, Portage Township. Memorial contributions may be given to Stein Hospice, Humane Society of Ottawa County or Otterbein North Shore Retirement Village.
