Mary Ellen Fox

Mary E. Fox, 73, of Port Clinton, died unexpectedly on Sunday at Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton. She was born July 20, 1935 in Port Clinton, the daughter of Harry and Eva (Meek) Witt. Mary was self employed in housekeeping and worked at various motels in the area. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. Mary enjoyed playing bingo, listening to music and just spending time with her family and friends. Surviving are her daughters Vickie Luber, Amy Kessler and Lisa Bell; son Gerald "Butch" Fox; Eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren; step children Mark (Brenda) Bear and Kathy Achenback and a sister Caroline Cox. She was preceded in death by her significant other of 30 years Raymond F. Bear, daughters Joyce Lynn Fox and Cheryl Ann Fox, grandchildren Naomi Luber, David Fox and Ashley Kessler, her parents, brothers Alfred, Ralph and Donald Witt and sisters Florence Muehling, Virginia Henry, Verna Young, Yvonne Witt and Ines May Witt and step son Raymond Bear, Jr. Graveside services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday August 5, 2008 at Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. Rev. James Lehman will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John Lutheran Church or the Lung Association.
