Mary Ellen Fletcher

Mary Ellen Fletcher, 92, of Sandusky, OH, died Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Providence Care Center, Sandusky, OH. She was born in Sandusky on May 15, 1924, a daughter of the late Wesley & Marian (Bemisdefer) Till. A homemaker in recent years, Mary Ellen previously was a teacher for Head Start, and employee of the former Ohio Bell, and was a receptionist for Dr. Rothermal. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Sandusky, was a very accomplished knitter, greatly enjoyed gardening, and loved Pepsi and Ballreich's Potato Chips. Her family was the most important part of Mary Ellen's life, and she always enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Mary Ellen is survived by her daughters, Amy (Michael) Nottke, Bellevue, OH, and Tina (Jim) Patton, Sandusky; sister, Betty Ann Guss, Sandusky; grandchildren, Katie Patton, Justin Nottke, Jared (Erin) Patton, and Rebecca (Terrence) Carr, and her great-grandson, Wesley Carr. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reed Fletcher; son, Timothy Fletcher; sister, Phyllis Jean (Bill) Hinde; brother, William (Eleanor) Till; and brother-in-law, Herbert Guss. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 16, 2016 at the David F. Koch Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, where friends may call after 11:00 A.M. Rev. Jan Smith-Wood will officiate, and burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Stein Hospice, or Shriner's Hospitals for Children.
