Mary Cary Rudes

Mary Cary Rudes, 91, of Oak Harbor, died Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Riverview Health Care Campus. She was born Nov. 28, 1917 in Oak Harbor the daughter of the late Leon and Merle (Fritchie) Leutz. She was a long time teacher for Benton-Carroll-Salem School district retiring on June 1, 1986. She was a member of Oak Harbor United Methodist Church where she was very active in the United Methodist Women, the church choir, the Kumdubble club, instrumental in designing the church kitchen and active in all church activities. She was a past 4-H advisor and a member of the Country Culture Club. Surviving are her sons: Merrill Rudes III of Prospect Heights, IL, Terrence (Kym) Rudes of Port Clinton; daughters: De Ila Meyer of Easley, SC, Diane (Cris)Windischman of Holt, MI; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and brother: Robert Leutz. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother A. J. Leutz. Visitation will be held Friday from 6:30 8:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 11:00 am at Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor where funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor, OH. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Mid-County E.M. S. or Portage Fire District.
