Mary Ann Hein

Mary Ann Hein, 84 of Lakeside-Marblehead, OH died Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Otterbein North Shore Assisted Living in Lakeside-Marblehead, OH. She was born September 2, 1938 in Toledo, OH to the late Clarence and Juanita (Orth) Claar. She was a 1956 graduate of Gibsonburg High School. On August 25, 1956 she married Gail Hein who preceded her in death on September 24, 1995. Mary Ann was a sales clerk for various business around the area, but spent most of her years as a homemaker and raising 4 girls. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Elmore, OH. She enjoyed spending time with family, sight-seeing, car rides, and working on jigsaw and word search puzzles.

Survivors include her daughters: Sue Hein of Marblehead, OH, Sherry (Dan Bowen) Davenport of Estero, FL, and Vickie (Deb Gail) Gottschalk of Elmore, OH; grandchildren: Michael (Amanda) McGinnis III, Cassie (Brian) Sullivan, and Tiffany (Jacob Clapsaddle) Davenport; great- grandchildren: Layla, Logan, and Nash McGinnis, McKenna, Ryan, Evan, and Owen Sullivan, and Danny Clapsaddle; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Cindy Hein; brothers Jack and Robert Claar; sisters: Florence Feasel, Shirley and Peggy Claar.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8pm at the Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elmore-Genoa Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 11am on Thursday, October 19, 2022 at the Funeral Home with Pastor Margaret Mills officiating. Mary Ann’s wishes were to have her ashes scattered in Lake Erie, her most favorite place. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider St. John’s U.C.C. or Stein Hospice.
