Marvel L. Brockschmidt

Marvel L. Brockschmidt, 82, of Rocky Ridge, OH, died Monday, April 17, 2017 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital, Toledo, OH. She was born in Indiana on March 12, 1935, a daughter of the late George & Florence (Poscharscky) Rarig. Marvel was a 1953 graduate of Salem-Oak Harbor High School, where she was a cheerleader. A beautician for many years, she owned and operated Styletique Salon in Genoa, OH. Marvel was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge. She enjoyed gambling, and loved playing Bingo. On August 7, 1954, Marvel married Raymond J. Brockschmidt, and he preceded her in death on January 25, 1984. She is survived by her son, Alvin "Butch" (Cindy) Brockschmidt, Clyde, OH; sister, Phyllis Ireland, Rocky Ridge; brother, Ted (Delores) Rarig, Monroe, OH; son-in-law, Doug Serviss, Rockford, OH; grandchildren, Jamie (Annie) Brockschmidt, Michigan, Angie (Chris) Hines, Fremont, OH, Eric (Casey) Oberdorf, Clyde, April (Brian) Goble, Clyde, Stephanie Serviss, Rocky Ridge, and Andrew Serviss, Greenville, OH. Also surviving are 10 great-grandchildren. Marvel was also preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Serviss; brother, Earl Rarig, and brother-in-law, Louis Ireland. Friends may call from 2-8 P.M. Wednesday at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday. Pastor Holli Burkard will officiate, and interment will follow at Elliston Cemetery, Elliston, OH.
