Martha Rose "Marti" Zeitzheim

Martha Rose "Marti" Zeitzheim, 73, of Oak Harbor, OH died Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, OH. She was born April 26, 1941 in Fremont, OH to the late Judge Robert and Elinor (Glenn) Gabel. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School, Fremont attended Rosary College in Chicago, IL and studied business at Tiffin University College of Business. On August 1, 1963 she married Judge David A. Zeitzheim who preceded her in death December 31, 2011. She sold Real Estate for Batdorff Realty in Oak Harbor. Marti held memberships in many organizations throughout Oak Harbor and Port Clinton. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton. She was also a longtime member and past president of the Oak Harbor Literary & Social Club, St. Boniface Catholic School Parenting Group, past church council member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, 10 year member and past president of the Magruder Hospital Auxiliary Board, present member of the Port Clinton Arts Council, and Port Clinton Yacht Club. She enjoyed her life so much with her family and friends. She was extremely proud of her 2 sons and their families, and her husband's accomplishments and all that he had done for the people he served. She personally enjoyed attending water aerobics, reading, needlework, family trips snow skiing and boating, and cooking "good" meals for the family. Marti also enjoyed her social life. She enjoyed meeting and spending time with friends at Put- In- Bay. Survivors include her sons Eric (Diane) Zeitzheim of Port Clinton & Scott (Jenny) Zeitzheim of Oak Harbor; sister Mary Ann (Jack) Merkel of Chelsea, MI; brother James (Jane) Gabel of Ludington, MI; grandchildren: Elise, Brendan, Anna, Emma, and Jack. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Glen Robert Gabel, Richard Paul Gabel, and Dennis Joseph Gabel. Visitation will be held at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton Monday, August 18, 2014 from 12-7:30pm, where members of the Altar-Rosary Society will pray the rosary at 7:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton with Rev. John C. Missler celebrant. Interment will be in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. Memorial contributions may be made to: Stein Hospice, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or St. Boniface Catholic Church.
