MARTHA JEAN SHUFF
Martha Jean West Shuff age 83, of Marblehead Ohio went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 1, 2024 following a lengthy seven-year battle with Alzheimer’s.
Martha was born August 24, 1941 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio to Frank White and Evelyn (Johnson) West.
Marty graduated from Anderson High School Cincinnati Ohio in 1959. She participated in choral activities in high school and church. She attended the University of Cincinnati while working as a secretary/receptionist.
While volunteering as a junior high youth director at Anderson Methodist in 1961, Marty was introduced to Chuck through mutual friends, after a two-year courtship they were married on June 8, 1963 in Cincinnati Ohio and went on to have three children, Donna, Chris and Chuckie.
Marty was the proud owner of York Classic Design in Marblehead Ohio. She loved to design floral arrangements and sell gourmet candy and specialty gifts. After retiring, Marty and Chuck would travel the United States in their RV while spending winters with friends in Florida. Marty enjoyed everything she did from: her jobs; the flower shops; cooking, baking, making candy, water skiing, riding sea doo, playing games, the beach, the times at Dale Hollow Lake, traveling and most of all caring for her family.
Marty was preceded in death by her father Frank, mother Evelyn, brothers Harold and Don, in laws Walter and Doris Shuff, sister-in law Elaine Shuff Dowd, all aunts, uncles and several cousins. She is survived by husband Chuck, daughter Donna (Eric) Helgesen, sons Chris (Debbie) Shuff, Chuck (Shannon) Shuff, three grandchildren Corinne (Jacob) Dillabaugh, Devon (Sydney) Shuff, Makayla Peyton and four great grandchildren Reece, Cassie, Josie, Theodore, one on the way and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 12:00 pm – 2:30pm at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E Harbor Rd. Lakeside Marblehead, Ohio 43440 Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at 2:30pm. Interment will follow in Sackett Cemetery, Danbury Township immediately followed by a Celebration of Marty's Life with food and refreshments at Holiday Inn Express, 50 NE Catawba Rd.
