Martha G. Bird

Martha G. Bird, 82, of Marblehead, died Tuesday September 4, 2007 at her residence. She was born October 26, 1924 in Latrobe, PA. the daughter of Phillip and Hannah (Robb) Baker. Martha was retired from the US Postal service in Michigan. She was a US Navy veteran serving as a pharmacist mate 2nd class during WWII. She enjoyed crafts, was very active in the Danbury Senior Center and was an original member of the Women in Military Service to America. Surviving are her daughter Jacqueline (Christopher Clark) Bird of South Carolina; sons William J. (Sharon) Bird and David A. Bird both of Euclid; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and sisters Rebecca Berky, Carolyn Fleming and Christine Marshall. Martha was preceded in death by her husband John D. Bird in 1993; her parents; brothers, Levan Baker, Phillip Baker, and a sister, Mary Louise Bloom. At her request, no services will be conducted. Memorial contributions may be made to the Danbury Senior Center Scholarship Fund.
